What the hell is this website ?!

Le carton is a web site designed to help you to sell all the old stuff you have and you don't use anymore. Look around you, you have probably something to sell. Take a picture, write an ad, and done. :)

Is it an auction site ?

Definitively not.

• you specify directly the price you want. No auctions.
• your ads will remain on this site as long as you follow the rules.

Does it do more ?

Yes.

It provides easy-to-share URLs (http://le-carton.appspot.com/user/[your nickname]) to your list of items. You can increase your chances of selling your stuff by putting this URL on your web site or in your IM nick name.

It also provides RSS feeds on almost all the pages. This means, for example, if some of your friends use this service, you'll be able to keep an eye easily on what they have to sell. If you're looking for something specific and you don't find it, just add it to your RSS client the RSS feed related to your search.

If you're wondering what RSS client you could use, I suggest Google Reader.

What are the rules ?

The basic rules are:

• remove the ad as soon as the related object is sold.
• no professional sellers.
• no uppercase sentences in the ad.
• no immaterial goods (ie: no software, no music, no films, ...).
• no sex objects.
• no living beings.
• no weapons (except swiss army knifes).
• no nazi objects / symbols
• the title of the ad must precisely refer to the object sold, nothing else.
• the photo(s) must show the object. Only the object.
• don't use too many tags
• use only relevant tags
• no vulgarities / rude language
• you agree with the Terms of services of Google
